The shrinking coach pipeline is leaving small programs scrambling to fill spots on the sideline while participation keeps climbing. Volunteer dads make youth football work in small towns. Hard to replace that kind of local commitment.

Dads stepping up has always kept the smaller programs alive, losing that time hurts more than people realize.

Coaches keep the game alive in those small towns, and it’s the same dads who get squeezed when work hours creep higher.

Sounds like the youth game is hurting when the dads can't step in. That volunteer pipeline was what kept small-town sidelines staffed for years.
